Chalkboard Art

I mentioned a few days ago that I was going to post some interesting ephemeral art images. My intended introduction about sandpainting grew to such an extent that it became an item on its own. That in turn prompted a response by Byter Sue who sent me off on a tangent to the ephemeral art of Andy Goldsworthy.

Posted below are the pics that were originally intended to be displayed.

Most people will have seen photographs of amazing footpath art, such as that of Julian Beever and Manfred Stader:

As someone who has trouble even just keeping the letters straight when having written in chalk on a blackboard in the past, I am impressed.

Two anonymous students going by the name of Dabngerdust post weekly works of blackboard beauty featuring inspirational quotations.

This is from their website at:

We are dangerdust. We love chalk.
Despite our overwhelming workload at Columbus College of Art & Design we bring it upon ourselves to create a chalkboard every week. We have taken over the chalkboard on the third floor of Crane and every Monday a new board appears.
